The purpose of HearLoss.org is to engage in research and other activities and to provide services that will benefit persons with or affected by hearing loss. In addition, HearLoss.org seeks to provide increased awareness concerning hearing loss to organizations of all types and to the general public.

Hearing loss has a profound effect upon those having this condition, influencing almost every aspect of their lives.  Surveys have consistently shown that in excess of 10% of the United States population has some degree of hearing loss; with the general population being just over 307 million people, this means that over 30 million people have some degree of hearing loss.  But not only does this impact these people, but it also touches their families and friends, greatly multiplying the influence of hearing loss. This organization was founded by individuals so touched.
